That is a scary scary story, a person needs alot of luck with these older machines. I took delivery yesterday and I don't mind admitting I was nervous unloading and moving the old thing around. *S* It will take some time and work before I'm comfortable with her, but that's expected. Here's hoping the driveline stays in one piece, at least til I make back the purchase price*s*

Sorry I screw'ed that up, I'ld like to know what hydro is used in an old blister like this CAN-CAR C-4, I'm thinking -32-?and the rear ends 90 weight? no hope of maneuls, eh?? C4 with ford industrial, love out Fred

theonlybull

thier pretty basic hyd systems in them.  hyd. 32 should work fine.  ATF will work too.  or if you wanna get fancy, clear hyd 32  8)

90w, or 80-90w is fine for the rear ends.

I've posted a picture of a 1960 vintage C-4 Tree Farmer cable skidder converted to diesel over on the Logging Equipment and Harvest Methods thread.

It is currently working on one of my timber harvests.
