That's what I am. ::)  I saw a news item about Sandringham House, the Queen's retreat, and got curious, so I took a little trip via Google Earth to take a gander at it.  Once I located it, I switched to Street View and toured the area a little bit.  It is a beautiful place, not all pristine and polished like you might imagine, but a very human and slightly worn looking environment.  The Royal dirt turns to mud when it is wet, and weeds thrive there just like anywhere else.  Anyhoo, I was driving down this little road near the castle and saw a little sign with the word "Sawmill" and an arrow, so I went that way and eventually came upon the Queen's very own sawmill, complete with stacks of freshly sawn boards and piles of royal sawdust.  Who woulda thunk it?

Here's an overhead view of the layout.  It isn't anything fancy, but it looks like an efficient arrangement.

Hmmmmm!!  Ian, Maybe you should have invited Sandringham to post a reply on the forum about their sawmill operation.  Seems it got popular real quick.  AND a membership would really be a feather for the cap.

England doesn't have a king, so it sure won't be a TimberKing  :D.

The entire estate is 20,000 acres (or about 30 square miles if my math is correct). 600 of that is parkland open to the public. So it isn't like a body was found in the back garden.

Also of interest ....

The Brits take much better care of their land than we do,every field neat, trimmed hedge rows and they don't foul the land with housing developments and strip malls. Frank C.
