Made it up to Wills today and brought home me a new helper. 48" Log-Rite. Now she has to teach me some new tricks. Oh and she is 100% USA made. Real nice construction. bg

Bill, I really found out on that last Cypress sawing job just how much better a Logrite is than whatever is in second place.  You will love that tool and throw rocks at the others.  Congratulations !!!    smiley_thumbsup

Bill,

You will go from eating bacon rind and corn meal mush to eating grits with country ham, red eye gravy, and eggs over easy with biscuits and maple syrup from New York (the syrup, not the biscuits) :D.

(NOTE:  The Northerners, especially the cfarm and Coon, might want to substitute something else for the word "grits", like "corned beef hash" or "hash browns" or some such as is your taste and proclivity.  It won't change the equation much, just close the gap a little  :)).

WDH, thats more of a step up than I can handle. Sounds good though. bg

WDH

Oh, that is the step-up that you have gotten yourself into.  It will be the next best thing to sliced bread.

DanG WDH, why wood a man want maple syrup when he can have genuwine cane syrup??? When I was a teenager, during the middle of the last centry, my parrents used to get it from Mister Jim Land, whose cane grew so crooked you had to twist yore biscuits before you could sop them in the syrup...

Hey Magicman,
That looks like my hickory handle, well just as bad! Bark and all, they are NO comparison to a Logrite!

Hey my old hook has a hickory handle also. Just not very straight nor as strong as my new LogRite. I am kinda confused at how this turned to food. But you gotta eat and that part I like. Syrup of any kind on grits will have to be tested in the south sooner than later to see if its a good thing or not.
MM, I need to learn my new hook before I take on another.
PC, your hook looks a little blue. Did the new mill cause this. bg

Blue from lack of use? na I still use it some just not as hard.
I bought mine from ez  at the ozark fall farmfest in Springfield,MO and it was cheaper than  WM or Logrite has ever advertised. It is all nicked up and has this interesting notch in the end of the handle now. I dunno but I suspect it wasn't all the way down in the end of the mill 1 time. I guess you could call that a theft deterant system I got going. PC

You were just marking your tool so that you could recognize it, I am sure  :).
