plans for the lumber yet? or just going to put it in the shed to dry and see what comes to you after it dries a little? or is it for a customer? ??? ???

POSTON WIDEHEAD

Frank,

500 BF in one log is a big job!

Sounds like you did well. Where did you get a log that big?????  Holmes
Think like a farmer.

Ron Wenrich

Log scales out to 590 bf.  20 18" boards scale out to 420 bf.  Sounds like you underscaled your lumber.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Your right Ron quite a bit was waste, log had been around a wile,no bark, had to slab heavy to get rid of worm holes.Cut the order for a customer, think its going into a wood shed. Frank C.

Hi Frank, I know you don't do pictures on here but if you have a digital camera and can email them I would be more than willing to post them for you, I would start a new album " Bandmiller2's pictures".  You have some great ideas and do a good job describing them and pictures would be the icing on the cake!  Just throwing it out there for you.
