I was on a sawing job this weekend when the wind kicked up.  The dust from the mill (easily) got behind my safety glasses and into my eye.  I'm sitting here with what feels like a rock under my eyelid  :(  Going to have to call the eye doc tomorrow to get the speck removed.  This happens to me on a regular basis (if I go two years without seeing the doc it's a miracle).  They say I have really tight eyelids that tend to trap the dirt underneath them.  No amout of flushing can get this stuff out.

I hate those big clunky goggles that always fog up...plus they never really seal all that great anyway.  I've seriously considered getting some swimming goggles to see if they would work without fogging up, but they're probably not impact resistant.  Does anyone know of some small, comfortable goggles that would be "similar" to swimming goggles...do they even exist  ???

Ok, I just did a google search for safety goggles, and see some that are what I'm talking about...Dewalt has a pair, as well as some others.  Does anyone have any experience with them...great pair, ones to avoid, etc...?

I have a pair of riding glasses for my motorcycle that have a foam cushion that presses against my face.

I've also thought that ski goggles or motocross goggles may work well when sawing in the wind.

Yeah, those are the type that came up when I googled "safety goggles".  I really need to get a pair.

I've got a pair of those.  Wear em riding and baling hay  :)  Should have had them yesterday.  I was using the bench grinder with safety glasses and a piece of metal bounced around them and got into my eye.  I resisted the urges to rub it and headed for the house.  I've got a small magnet in the medicine cabinet for just such an event and this was the first time I've had to use it and it worked.  Sucked the little piece of grinding up and back to the shop I went none the worse for wear.  Got lucky  :)

Yeah, a friend told me about the magnet trick.  A couple years ago I was filing my chainsaw chain when a little filing got in my eye.  I just grabbed a magnet off the refrigerator and it pulled it right off.  I think I started a topic about it after it happened to pass the word along.  Don't know why, but I never would've thought of using a magnet until someone told me about it  ;)
