I'm installing a new E-2400 this year, and I am going to add a Buderus panel radiator to heat my basement. Do any of you run these in your house. I want to tee off the supply and return lines between the owb and indoor oil fired boiler and feed the radiator. The radiator will have a thermostatic head on the control valve to control water flow and temp in room. Seems pretty straight forward. Do any of you heat guys have any suggestions?   Thanks Doug

It will heat the area if it is piped properly.  Install the panel near the floor  not at the ceiling.  If the boiler piping is at the ceiling you will need 2 venturi tees. The first 1 will push the flow down to the panel the 2nd one will pull the flow back up to the main.  If the piping and the panel are at the same height you can use 1 venturi tee on pull { return} side and a conventional tee on the feed side.  Tees need to be spaced at least a foot apart.  Venturi tees add a good amount of head loss , pump sizing could be important.

Hi Holmes, I will have a Taco 009 at the owb it will be pumping about 130 ft. to the boiler in the house. The 1" pex will be run at the ceiling height (8ft.) The radiator will be wall mounted 2 ft. off the floor behind a built in bench ( we don't sit on this bench, especially after radiator is installed). What do you think Holmes. I'm going to pick up the boiler tomorrow. If you want to stop over and check it out your more than welcome. Send me a pm if its something your interested in. Thanks Doug
