Hi everybody.

Well, we have in france and italy thoses single blade alternative or reciprocating horizontal sawmills. Usualy they cut around 3 or 4 feet wide.

Machines like thoses

One portal raising the saw up and down, an alternating sawblade, and a chariot underneath. Dead simple.

I was wondering what travel do you think the blade needs? Three teeth? Full width of the log? And about tension? Any idea?

Thanks a lot guys.

Whiskers, that's mad!

Of all the videos you could have found, you dug one from a town nearby. It's only about 60 miles from where i live. I thought this kind of wood on the building looks familiar, trees around too. Then i checked :D  I also checked if it wasn't the one i missed last year. But can't be the video is from 2008. Mad i tell you.
