Here are two better pictures of the end of the Beech log

  

   The sapwood spalted and the heartwood does not look as if it has any streaks in it. Who knows? Like I said this is an excuse to call it an experiment ;D. I was just to lazy to cut them up and forgot about them for a couple of years :D. Tim
