Solo 603 Replacement Piston

Hi to everyone.

I'm just new to the site and have joined as i'm at a complete loss as to find a replacement piston and cylinder for a Solo 603 chainsaw.

If anyone can advise where i can find a replacement 56mm piston to suit the Solo 603 and/or a replacement cylinder, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've been tearing my hair out trying to find these parts. I am sure another piston from a different chainsaw manufacturer would fit, but no one seems to know any cross reference pistons that will do the job.

Pictures are deceiving but believe it or not I've saved them that were that bad .If you can sand out the high spots on the exhaust side it might work .You can live with a few low spots but a high one is what will get you .

The question  is how bad is the cylinder ?

You can find generic rings that will work on just about anything for 6-8 bucks each .If that thing will hold compression just run a little more oil in the mix  and tune it a little rich and it might go .

These guys have one HUGE selection of pistons from what I remember. It may not be "made for your saw", but will have the same dimensions. It would take a direct call to them, with demension on hand. They may just have what you need. It's worth a try.

Unfortunately Chainsawr had no pistons or cylinders for the Solo 603

The cylinder is fairly beat up - the only way it can be saved is to have it stripped and re-electro-plated back to original spec. Unfortunately this would cost me $500 just for the replating, and i still wouldn't have a usable piston.

I didn't think it could be so hard to find a good piston and cylinder for the Solo 603

Guy selling cylinders for 603 on chainsaw repair site ;).

US Chrome here replates cylinders for $200. Much cheaper to just buy another of the guy selling IF you get a piston some day.
