I am retiring (at least for a season) and I need a reliable sawyer to take saw jobs in the Mobile, Al area.  One job waiting right now.
Work's fine for killing time but it's a shaky way to make a living.

I cant help with the saw jobs, but it sounds like a great opportunity for someone.

Good to hear from you bodger. Have you been able to sell your mill or extra motor since you have moved?  PC

Sold the mill but still have the Kohler engine. I am really restricted on space here - living in town is quite a bit different from where we were.  We are in Mobile for a couple of reasons - one to assist in a starting a new church and to extend our addiction recovery program.  It is starting slow but many opportunities are opening up daily.

Bodger, check with our friend woodbowl, he's a little closer.  You won't find a better sawyer, seventeen years experience and no tellling how many millions of board feet.
Here's his website-

That's pretty close but may be too far to travel.  Part of the reason I pulled away was because the jobs that were coming in were mostly 50 - 60 miles away.  That's not bad but it eats up a lot of time and pulling the mill around in city traffic was draining. I'm surprised there isn't someone here on the outskirts of town that has popped up.  Well if no one is available I may have to take my froe and mallet over and just rive his trees into boards.

Hi Bodger,
I can feel your pain. I will be selling my WM LT40HD soon. It will bring a tear to my eye. As for the sawing in Mobile, I may be interested. I now have a WM LT40 super hyd.
Full time custom sawing at the customers site since 1995.  WoodMizer LT40 Super Hyd.
