In the land where wood and steel collide one is tempted to challange fate from time to time.  Like going mobile sawing on a day with 50% chance of rain  But when things go good and all is well in the land it is a good day.  All the logs saw well and the blades just seem to last and last.  The machines all work with out any problems and the flow is so smooth that one does not even notice it as work.  The weather is in the high 60's and it is cloudy all day but the rain misses and the wind lays low.   Time just flys by and help wants to stop for a break only to find out it is lunch time.  There can not be a better time or could there?   Getting to the last log of the day only to look up and see this sight lets one know that there is a God and it was a good day.

Personally, I know of nothing else that encourages me more when I am outdoors working, than to look up and find a rainbow above or near my work area.  8)

Thanks for the picuture Arkansawyer. Lately everything has been going the other way for me. Mill breaking in the middle of a job, forklift getting stuck in the mud then breaking, customer disgracing my mill by loading the ugliest logs I have ever seen, the list goes on.
Next week maybe the rainbow will be over my mill!
Mobile Demension sawmill, Bobcat 873 loader, 3 dry kilns and a long "to do" list.

Thanks ARKANSAWYER,

We tend to pay attention to all the negatives around us and forget all the good things that happen. Thanks for reminding us that we have a lot to be thankful for.

Even when we are having a bad day, there's always tomorrow.

A body has to look forward to these days as sooner or later every little hound will have his day.   One should never get so busy as not to lookup from time to time and see what is out there.  I am blessed to work outside in God's Country like I do and try very hard to remember that when it is 105 and a quarter mile to the nearest shade tree and not a cloud in the sky.  I have had my weeks of Mondays and Friday never seems to come.   But last week I was smiled upon and blessed.  Maybe you to will have a rainbow over your mill (I dought it for swingers) ;D and maybe you will have your camera.

When I was pulling the mill back to some logs at a job site, The mud was flying off my tires 20 feet high. As I was doing this, I was thinking , boy this is going to be one of them days. I got set up and started to saw, and kept sawing and sawing. Everything was going really great, I was working my butt off, running slaps over and running back to saw again.
Then for some reason I thought of this post that Arkansawyer posted. I shut the mill off, got a pop and sat down and just listen to the peepers and drank my pop. It was a good filling and I think it done me good. I went back to sawing with a pace not like a mad man. It was a good day.
Thanks Arkansawyer.

HEYYYYYYYYY Arky, back the truck up!  "Maybe you to will have a rainbow over your mill (I dought it for swingers) "   You didn't think I'd let that one slide by without a comment didja?   :D  I haven't seen the rainbow yet, but have rigged a shade tarp over my mill on a 100° day!  BWW

You may have got the rainbow but we got the rain and the green.  This is what 4" of rain looked like Friday afternoon.  Pond was overflowing,  stream behinds that's normally about 12' wide and ankle deep was running about 30 yards wide and 8'-10' deep.

Rain again all day today... so far.  Frogs are crokin' like crazy.  Some crazy people mowed their lawns a week ago.  Flowers are up but no mushrooms reported yet.

We got some rain and warm weather last week into the weekend. All of a sudden green grass starts showing up, nice to see after a long winter. Started sawing the gnarly stuff that gets set off to the side. One was a walnut crotch that has dirt and rocks in an old dead branch spot. Used two blades to get it cut but the management says it was worthwhile. Some of it was was curly.

Most was pretty gnarly but tons of character. If your you only cut clear wood and throw the rest in the cull pile your missing out on some beautiful wood. Cut it all at 10/4

Thanks for reminding me to take a little time during work this weekend to stop and enjoy god's gifts to us.
