Has anyone attached a post hole digger or auger to the grapple on their log loader.
I think I could make a bracket to hold an auger and rotate the grapple
to dig holes 8 inch wide, 3-4 feet deep.
If I could find a second-hand bit I would give it a whirl.  Princess Auto has bits for around $150.

If you were successful in digging holes what size bit did you use? Any suggestions?

I have a Patu 202 log loader.

I saw a pic in a logging publication several years ago. guy took a earth auger, probly 12" diameter, and welded a square piece of steel on the end. all he had to do was grab it with the grapple on his 120prentice and use the continuous rotation.

yes I have done it. we fitted a cross bar to the end of the auger, fed it through the grapple on the forwarder and drilled away. Not quick but faster than a shovel. The challenge is keeping it centered.
