You all got me thinking (not usually a good thing ), I ordered the WM belt tension gauge today,  I just hope I can figure out how to use it.  :D

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

I would say on an electric mill such as a WM leave your engine at a fast idle to keep the battery up.Non electric mill anything over 10-15 min shutdown. My bandmill is electric I shut it down when wrangling logs or moving boards around, prehaps too much. The old Dagenham diesel on the circular mill stays running except for lunch. A warm running diesel is not wearing anything running, except a hole in your pocket for fuel. Frank C.
