Bought a old 1978 one, and have to prime it in the carb to start it after it sets for a day. It will start time after tme then  but not after it vsets over nite. Any thoughts?

Replace fuel line and filter, but most of all youre gonna want to rebuild the carb...particularly the needle valve.
Buy a complete rebuild kit, not just a diaphragm kit.

What Adk says.

After all these years some little rubber part in the carb or fuel system will have degraded. Rather than work out exactly what, replace em all. Otherwise, next month something else will fail anyway. Most of the hassle is the time spent pulling it all apart, so do it once, do it right.

Because it's running OK once you get the fuel flowing suggests it's nothing too serious, and worth rebuilding the fuel system.

That was the first saw that i purchased when i started cutting wood for my wood stove. Knowing what i know now i should have looked at something a little bigger. I had the same starting problem from the day it was new. If you run it any lenght of time you, will have to tighten nuts and bolts at the end of the day. The vibration is terrible. I went out and bought a used 034 av super and never used the 010 again(I am still using the 034). I ended up giving it away to a friend who wanted it.

The 010 has quite a lousy choke, which could help being a culprit.
The same goes for choke on the 009, 011 and 012.

I believe sablatnic is right, if the choke don't close tight it well not start when its cold.

I had that thought to! I was going to put my thumb over the carb and choke it that way! If it works we know the problem!
