I'll admit that I guessed at milling time so bear that in mind here (meaning I was skidding, falling and re-positioning logs a lot on this job) but I think we only managed 118bf/hr!

We were billing by the hour for all services at the same rate so it didn't matter for billing but I did want my son to record actually milling time -- he just forgot.  ::)

So I guessed 5 hours but I recorded one log at 15 minutes total however that was just one.  The position of the logs and the crud in and around them made it tough to mill much in the time we had.  We spent nearly as much time, if not more, moving logs, skidding logs and falling, delimbing and bucking a tree.  The customer, however was thrilled :)

They explained that they were told they didn't have any good logs to mill and should just buy lumber.  They can't wait to show off their 600bf of pine to that gent ;)

Could you have used the Jeep winch to roll the logs on after the small one broke?

I probably could have rigged up something but we didn't need to use it.  Just good ol' arm strong.
