Taking a short-cut,(not putting on protective gloves),for the second coat of danish oil and trying to hold a perfectly smooth piece of ice slathered in oil.It slipped and it broke.Stupid Me!!!!!!
I was making a gift, for My surgeon,She is Korean and I thought a dolphin was suitable. The best Doctor I hav ever met, engageing, personable and listens to EVERY word I say.
My right pinky and ring finger are numb,I could care less, until,it was waking Me up during the night.
So September 4. I go under the knife.I have complete faith in Herbut wanted to show Her,that I really need My hands in all I do.

That is too bad. My wife had cubital tunnel surgery. They only put 2-3 small holes into her wrist. Worked wonderful for her.

Looks just great to me Jim and no one is going to notice those glue lines.  You hid them really well. Beautiful work!

I just finished today,I hope boredom don't lead Me to try and apply another coat of finish.
This time I tried Formbys gloss tung oil and I know they only passed a vial of tung oil over the plant that manufactures the
stuff, but I wanted a high shine and this is the only finish that could be used over danish oil, without waiting a month.
Prior to cutting the stainless steel rod.

The pectoral fin is not too bad but I will always know I broke it.

The better side.

The dark side.

The case it will be transported in

It is really nerve wracking to handle stuff this fragile,I'm glad it's almost done.I still need to pack it up.

Nice job, just make sure they understand how fragile that is when you give it to them.

Looks beautiful... you said it had a repair in it?   ;)  I pray that God gives your surgeon the wisdom of Solomon and the skill of a master craftsman... Blessings...
