Some time luck is on your side.  We picked up 6ea red oak 24" avg. dia. x 10'   and 10ea 32" avg. dia. x 9' poplar logs and a dump truck load of red oak slabs for firewood.  I would have loved to have sawn the log that the firewood slabs came from but it was just too big to lift with my JD 110.   All free except for the fuel and labor required to go and pick it up.  The logs were 25 miles from our sawmill site so it took a while to transport.  Only worry...These are back yard trees and I'm going to saw the butt logs last and hope for no metal.

Good find!  8)

No guarantees on being no metal!

I would think that the lumber would far outweigh the difficulties with metal!  ;)
