FF member Rocky_J ordered a Cant Hook from us awhile back.
Thanks Rocky! You're the best!
Somewhere along the way, we crossed wires and shipped him a Peavey. After we came to our senses and shipped him the Cant Hook, Rocky tried to ship the Peavey back. It came back to Connecticut, UPS tried to deliver it to the wrong location, it traveled back to Rocky's place in Florida, got a tan and finally made it's last journey up the East Coast. This is a picture of the gentle white glove treatment it received from UPS.

LMAO! Actually Pete, the box doesn't need to offer much protection. It basically provided a cover and a way to handle the peavey. The only padding is at the ends (I added some extra bubble wrap at both ends to keep it from wobbling inside the box) and I figured if you had a lifetime warranty on the handle then UPS wasn't gonna bend it unless they drove over it with the truck! The scary part is that the box looks like they DID drive over it.
It didn't look too bad the first time I got it, but by the second round trip it was looking a bit shabby. Glad you finally got it back OK.

BTW, the original screw-up was completely my fault. I went to the website to order a cant hook and instead ordered a peavey. My brain was not engaged that day but Pete was quite pleasant and sent me out a cant hook as soon as I told him what happened.

BTW, is this the one you are gonna give away in the contest?  ???

Pete J

Nah, we wouldn't give away a peavey that had a story to tell. We're giving away a brand new LogRite tool that the winner chooses. We're even gonna ship it in our new, improved box. Our packing supplier calls the new box a 5-panel folder. It even sounds High Tech!

We needed some demo tools for the Richmond trade show so we figured we'd bring this one since it knows the east coast area so well!

That's nut'n guys ;D

I crated a framed picture with a wooden crate around the frame and 2 inches of styrofoam sandwiched on each side of the picture to protect the glass in the frame. It traveled from east coast to west coast and when I got it.... It was all tore to h$%#. Chards of glass were coming out of the crate, the crate was all busted up. When I got it from Canada Post I asked them who dropped it from the sky crane and demanded payment for damaged goods. Since it was obviously accessive abuse in handling they cut me a cheque for the damaged picture frame and picture, which was all scratched to heck by the glass chards. Some of the doofusses they employ to handle parcels probably don't have the intelligence to lace up their sneakers in morning, and obviously don't care about their job.

There's my story ;)

I used to help a buddy of mine deliver rural mail. I swear sometimes that they load parcels on a truck with a skidsteer with a bucket on it. Same goes for airline luggage handlers.

So how do you like the cant hook Rocky? I just ordered a short pickaroon.

Weekend_Sawyer

I prefer the Peavy because of the point, I have 2 peavys and 2 cant hooks and the peavys are the ones that get the most use.

Since we do not have logs frozen together very often in Florida, I prefer the cant hook.
I've actually gotten to use it a couple times and it works exactly like a cant hook is supposed to work. There are a couple of fine details in the manufacturing that I really appreciate, like the roll pin that prevents the hook from swinging all the way back and hitting the handle. A nice touch if you have ever grabbed a cant hook to carry it and the hook swung back and smashed your knuckles. The machining and welding are ultra slick and the tool is impressively light for being so sturdy.
