Sketchup! How do i intersect the faces?

Hi everybody!

Well, i'm kind of stumped on a project. How do i intersect the faces of the sawn shingles, so i don't have wood showing below the valley? Anybody has an idea? Or shall i start again using another method than small elements roofing?
