All the Woodmizers I have been around, including mine have 13" wheels. The highest load rating on a 13" tire doesn't add up to the gross weight listed on the mill trailer. Also, being lower to the ground means I have to dig a deeper hole for the outriggers and is harder on my back since I'm tall. I have a spare set of 15" rims, a tire machine and a bunch of different size used tires. Last night I tried several sizes and it seems like a 225/70/15 is the largest tire that will fit without rubbing the fender. I'm interested to know what other people are running on their mills and what was the reasoning for the little 13" tires in the first place.

My 2001 LT40 Super came with ST225-75R15.  I just had to replace them.
2001 LT40HDD42RA with lubemizer, debarker, laser, accuset. Retired, but building a new shop and home in Missouri.

Mine too, 225/75R15 Marathon radials on my 2001 LT40 Super diesel GVWR 4500#. On my second set with new spare.  The tire/rim from Wood-Mizer is a good deal.

Mine is a 92 LT40. I'll go with the 225/75-15's since they are a very common trailer tire size. The 13's always looked half flat even over inflated. I sure never wanted to take it very far with those tires.

My spare is one of the original tires.  It's the same size as the ones on it now; 15s.

Currently  WM spec spares for the 40 series as 14" and 15"  with 15" for the supers and the 70 series

You wouldn't leave home without a spare tire for your car, so why do it with your mill?
