So I made a promise to myself if this cold winter would ever let up for even a day I was gonna fire up the mill and finish milling the last walnut log from a disaster tree job I did . But the Daytona 500 was on ! All in all a great day saw some of the race It got delayed ,outside it was 40ish and sunny ! Already had the log on the loaders ,so I uncovered the mil and started sawing . I used one of those Wood-Mizer bi-metal blades . It seemed to cut a tad faster ,I just wish the log was worth the effort ! As I figured there was ingrown bark all the way through ! I got some crap boards but nothing to brag about . I guess my point is I got to mill after waiting over a couple months and I got to see some racing ! On a sunny day in Febuary ! Life is good !  Think I'll make some flower box's out of the lumber ........

In my eyes there is no such thing as a bad walnut. I keep the junk I saw and use it to sweeting the pot when people come up and buy lumber. They build pens and smaller projects with the stuff I can't sell. Giving someone a $5.00 peace of wood can mean a lot to a customer. And as far as the race it ended on a good note. Jr. 8) 8)
