wondering if this can be fixed

so yesterday I was cutting like normal with an old Stihl ms440 magnum when halfway through a cut I noticed that the bar was really loose. I pulled out of the log and the bar,chain, and cover plate just fell off. It looks like the rear post that holds the bar in place pulled out of the case and then the front nut wobbled loose. This event pretty much ruined my day. So, I was wondering what it would take to fix this issue, or if it is even worth fixing.

If it was mine I would try to fix it using the right size helicoil.
Be aware that you might need to use a bottoming tap to get the helicoil down deep enough without causing further damage.
I would also change the other stud out while I was at it.

With a helicoil or an insert it would take a larger hole .With the M10 056 stud you could just punch a spiral point tap through the stripped out hole .

I'd fix it,   but better put some stud retaining locktite on the helicoil

At least try to fix it. And replace the other stud too, looks like the threads stripped on it.
