Anyone interested in a new video of the wm4000?
This time it is an official woodmizer release starring their top of the line model.

I also must say i very much appreciate the fact that this video is not cut and edited in mtv-style
with fifteen different camera-angels and drowned in heavy rock music, but instead
just shows the basic process of the machine sawing a log from start to finish.

And, a promise of more detailed information to come.

Cool. Cool cool cool.

I realize that it was showing the machine and not the sawing technique, but I seriously disagree with ever splitting the pith on any log, especially what appears to be Poplar.

Nice catch there MM, i didnt even really notice!

I am going to try and blame this smooth, quiet running and what also appears to be
air conditioned sawmill for making me lose my concentration.

This mill is streets ahead.

Yes, i have been watching "Community" a lot lately...

magicman, if you ever get to Oklahoma I would like you to come by and see some of my walls in my house, I have many boards of various specie that have been sawn directly thru the pith and it gives the walls great character.

I do understand tho when sawing for customers you cant hardly teach them to sew up a silk purse from a sows ear. they just see a twisted up no good board. ;D

POSTON WIDEHEAD

I would have like to have seen the Oak being sawn.  :) Poplar is for show....Oak is for Dough.  :D
The older I get I wish my body could Re-Gen.

I agree with Peter about the speed.  I kept wondering when he was gonna start sawing.  ???

What is the deal about the lack of a Debarker?

Does WoodMizer have plans for a rosserhead debraker style in the future?  Would be good to know as there is a market where there are not many options, especially for the smaller producers.

stavebuyer

The WM Industrial catalog shows and prices a swing type de-barker similar but larger to what is on the portable mills. It is optional as some mills will prefer to run full log de-barkers in order sell clean chips.

The Nicholson A-8 ring barker is a stand alone unit that can handle 36" logs and opens you up for the clean chip market.

Hello,
The Debarker is an option. This operation has a log debarker and they sell a clean chip and the bark.
There will be a WM4000 at the Richmond Expo Next month May 16 and 17. It will not be running. No way to hold it down and the expo does not like holes in their blacktop pavement.

Will be nice to see in person.  Can only see so much from pictures and movies.

Hope to see you there Marty!

Here is a new video of the wm4000 with a more detailed technical description as promised earlier.
It pops up at the end of the previous video, but i would like to think it deserves a separate link.
