Not many people install the strainers. They kind of look like a sideways y with the leg down. A removable strainer [ fine screen] is put in upwards thru the direction of flow to collect any debris in the system.  The strainers are not built into the HX.
Think like a farmer.

i sorta had the same problem once. the pump gave up on the owb so i bought a new one from a owb dealer it was a different number taco pump. it would not push the water into the house. monday am i called taco they said that pump could not do the job. went back to 0011 pump and all was fine. i also did the infloor heat its a lot of work but its worth it. i had trouble with some of the plastic clips to hold the pipe up. after a while they would break. replace the nails with screws. i built a manifold then used 007 pumps with a check valve for each zone. go to napa and buy a temp guadge to put in the manifold

...if you talk with most any HX dealer, they insist on a some type of y-strainer where the water enters the HX.  Better to plug a y strainer than a HX. ;D

So I believe the pump is a 007 on the CB.

I installed subfloor heat. So far I have 4 200-250ft loops, I have yet to get the insulation over it though. Seems to help a lot, Im ordering another 1000ft, but I haven't had any really cold days again to test it. I ran it off the manifold for my regular boiler on its own zone and it circulates it rather quick.

I found out the other day the bottom cement inside the fire box is breaking out in chunks. Its all cracked like broken cement. It seems like I fix one problem and always find something worse.
