Oh, yeah, remember well. Might as well get the Big Lots bottle of MiraLax, that's going to be a problem for a while. Take some at least 2x per day. The pain will be significant for the first week or so, then just when you move :D. The good news us that we all survived, you will too to enjoy life again.  Just don't get impatient and damage something. Keep us posted on how you're progressing!

When I had mine, my back (leg pain mostly like others) usually was worse in late fall when weather turned to cold.   Well when it finally went out it was this time of year, I spent most of July laid up waiting for surgery.   That happened at end of July in 08 was HOT, but I was laid up with AC so 8)

Doc sounds like you are pushing too soon to go back to work!   Maybe take a few more weeks off  ;) I hear FISHING is good for back problems ;) (just make sure the waves are not too big...

Actually, I'll be teaching mostly.  I have no plans to put on a lead apron and head into the OR soon.  Thanks for the thought.

Fishing sounds good, but I don't know about bending down to lip a nice largemouth quite yet.  Planning to head to the cabin in Canada the first week in August, so I hope things are able to bend freely by then.

Doctorb where is the cabin? Do you make house calls. Just kidding. After my surgery I was supposed to see the neurosurgeon but she didn't show. Even the nurses thought it was strange. I'll will have to wait for the teleconference in a month

Pep:  Surprised they only allow tylenol.  Even my conservative surgeon allowed vicodin for a day, and declining dose of  steroids for a couple days. The muscles they had to move aside to work are probably as sore as the surgical area. Not surprising on no bowel movement for three days. I finally drank a half gallon prune juice, took the pills and still waited for the magic moment. Word to wise: Do Not Push.  Lastly, you'll be good to go in no time. My surgery was on a Friday and back to work - supervisory, no lifting - on Thurs the following week.
