My friend just dropped in and dropped off.....two pieces of cooked lake trout. This fellow is the real deal for trout from local deep water lakes that he has fished for 50 years. He started out trolling with a line to test depth and now uses a fish finder and a four stroke motor on a slightly modified 14 ft aluminum. This is what he has always done for fun and he is good at it. Sometimes he brings me an uncooked fillet but the last two times I have gotten cooked fish which is fine by me. Generous by nature and always ready to lend a hand this guy is old school all the way.

Not only cleaned, but cooked!
That's a generous friend indeed.

Just curious... do you have inland lakes with Lake Trout over there or is your friend fishing the Big Lakes?  ???

I have lived almost all my life in the highlands here and if I have to walk more than a half mile to drown myself I am not home. Lots of small lakes, many 100 ft deep in places. Quite a range of depths and fish but it is not as good as it once was. We are a tourist area but the kind that build cottages and come up every week end and some weeks. Most highways twist around here because they have to go around lakes.
