Very cool! I saw way too many EWPs last winter with that black hole in the base.  :( At least that one was off center.

I was watching that branch caught in the top of those catapults to the right. Glad it stayed there, don't need any javelins flying about!

Awesome! That big boy put a lot of girth on for its height.

Thanks guys! I trimmed about 3 ft off the but and it cleared up nicely hate to see the holes but makes me feel good getting it on its way out. Yeh those javalins can be scary those where aways away from me but still you never know.

Good to hear it cleaned up. I hate seeing logs with a little heart rot not being utilized, but I understand why commercial operations can't deal with them. I cut a lot of 8' butts off last winter, and was able to saw some good lumber off the outside.

Chester yeh it did I have cut them that where around 40in about the same height but that one scaled up a lot better 8). Most pine down here is only 75 ft or so tall tho not that I will complain cause I love cutting pine!
Dave yeh its good to get use out of as much of a tree as possible sometimes if I don't have a market for big rough logs I'll even quarter stuff up for pulp just so it won't go to waste

Nice size pine. I had a lot of those on mine land. Some went to Dixfield as a pallet grade and some for #1. I enjoyed watching the skidder too.

In two days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

Thats a nice pine for sure, when your pulling a big single tree with no top the buttplate gets pounded pretty hard at times!! ;D

Thanks guys for all the comments! Yeh those big ones sure do hit the buttplate hard especially as rocky as that lot is. 240 I was hoping no one would notice that haha it looks stupid they both fell off and I didn't have any time to put them back on. Normally I run 4 chains 4 seasons
