I need to replace a gasket on an old hydraulic pump where the gasket is paper thin and it needs to hold the pressure. I also need to make the gasket, any recommended products?

my favorite homemade gasket material is the paper cereal boxes. tough draw between corn flakes and lucky charms on which one is better :D.

Maybe the gasket is so thin because it needs to be for the tolerances necessary within the pump. Anything thicker will not work well. Just my thought...
Good luck on the repair..

Maybe the wax paper inside the cereal box?

Loctite makes an anaerobic sealant for hydraulic fittings which would work on the paper gasket, it is Loctite 545. Should be able to get it at any decent auto supply house.
Turbosawmill M6 (now M8) Warrior Ultra liteweight, Granberg Alaskan III, lots of saws-gas powered and human powered :D
