I'm looking forward to seeing the video.  Put something together.  That will spur on people to make suggestions for more helps.

One recommendation is:  Always check your log stops before starting the cut.  And, check for log stops that might be sticking up beyond the log.  I once hit a stop right after changing the blade.  Then after putting a new blade on, pushed past the log and hit a stop that was sticking up.  Two new blades in two cuts.  That was so painful.  I figured I should just quit for the day before something worse happened.

Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

Local wind direction is determined by how I park my mill.

The guys from Norwood Portable Mills make rather good videos like this one:

I'd love to see a blend of technical do's and don't paired with a bit of humour to keep it interesting, and not drawn out either. Can't wait to see your video mate!  8)

Make it to the point. You don't need panoramic views of the country. You don't need dramatic lead in music. Make sure your audio is clear of major background noise.
Those who would disrespect our flag have never been handed a folded one.

Speaking of background noise, DO NOT suppress the sound of the mill with music.  We want to hear the machine!!!!

Looking back, my biggest beginner issues were around trying to continue to saw with dull blades.

Some things to consider for beginners.

Blades are consumable.  Don't expect blades to cut more than a log or two (beginners).  Start with a supply of sharp blades.  The one that comes with the mill will get dull.

Waves come from dull blades, too fast sawing, build up on the blade, lack of sufficient blade tension.  Check these BEFORE tinkering on the mill.

Have a plan to stack and sticker lumber and get rid of waste slabs.

The manual is your best friend.  The original engineers know best!

Checklists are your friend.

Just like flying planes and painting, most of the work and time is spent during the planning/preparation phase
