I'm just starting to get into firewood to sell.I just lost my job on my family dairy farm of 20 years.and I have a newborn. So I need income but I'm having a heck of a time reaching anyone to sell or sell and deliver logs. Preferably tractor trailer load. I live in Jefferson County in upstate new york. Any ideas ? And what would be a good price on a tractor trailer load of logs.

People live that far north in upstate NY?  ;D

How about trying to get some tree service co's that cut's down residential trees as a source of free wood?

Downstate on Long Island the tree companies cut the wood to 16" lengths and pile it by the curb for people to take for free. Some tree companies will post on Craigslist. This way they do not have to spend time picking up the wood and loading their truck, going to town dump compost center and pay dump fees.

Last load of wood I got included some large rounds. The tree co's employees rolled two rounds, a 17"x32" Dia and 17"x34" Dia Red Oak rounds onto my landscape trailer.

The 32" one is now split up. The 34" is my new chopping block. The 32" old Jeep tire sits onto the top of the round nicely. That tire works well saving me from bending down a lot keeping the split's falling on the ground.
