What were the worse deliveries you ever had, problems and issues?

Yesterday I was to deliver 3 cords along with a "easy" split job. So, i was about 2+ hours behind schedule, after pulling my trailer out of my lot and found I had a flat tire. So after fixin it I got on the road. While drivin on the DC beltway my truck/trailer started swaying really bad, pulled over to find a flat tire on my truck.

Not that much of an issue except for not havig a working jack. On the phone with the insurance company, then Va DOT showed up, someone with a floor jack, great. Tire changed, back on road.

Go off beltway, a passerby flagged me down to tell me that my trailer lights are not working, more down time. Blown fuse, got a new one.

So, after all was fixed I only delivered 2 cords, different locations, and then it was too dark to deliver the 3rd and to do the split job. What a day. Today I finished the jobs, 1 delivery and a 6hr split job, too bad the pictures of the wood pile weren't more descriptive...why too much to have gone wrong...

Got stuck in a lawn(mud) dropping off a load of wood. That was pre cell phone days and know one was home.
I've met Vets who have lived but still lost their lives... Thank a Vet

Family man and loving it :)

Last year I got stuck four times in yards and this year once. And I've waited for people to get home and they never show. Not only that but I never hear from them again like they never ordered any! Years ago had to go back to a guys house back up to his shed and start loading my wood in order to get him to pay. Yep had about all happen.

I delivered to these people up on a very tall hill and my truck kept slidding down the hill so I had to back up the hill to get these people their wood

I got pulled over by the DOT and it took so long my firewood customer left to go to work so I had to go back home and deliver the load the next day.

More than once a homeowner has said just back the semi across there.  Don't worry the ground is hard. :-\    Had a truck go through a shallow septic field one time.  Although firewood deliveries are often lucrative they can also lead to some crappy situations.
Lots of toys for working in the bush

I had a 70 chevy c40 with the funky brake booster down on the frame rail.  I lost the brakes backing down a driveway with 2 cord of dry on.  Rolled into a tree as the emegency was one of those on the back of the transmission.  I put it in granny gear first, took out a big chunk of firewood, then idled up to the drive, stalled the motor in gear and got out and chocked the rear wheel with the fire wood.  Dumped and got paid and the customer never new.

Couple "goat trail" driveways where had to chain up the tires at -20*.

dropped a PTO shaft while driving down the highway (fell off!), flew into a tailgaters windshield.

Delivery ~100 miles away"Oh... I kinda don't have the money, can I pay later?"  Funny how cash appears when I start to leave.

One lady last year wanted me to drive 100 miles round trip to pickup the "trash".  A 5 gallon pail worth of bark and slivers out of 2 cords I dumped.  She called me 4 letter worwhen I suggested she use it to start fires or dump it in the dumpster.
Crazy thing, she tried to order wood this year!  I said nope.

Tnhankfully 99% of the deliveries go fine, customers always pleased.
