Guys, I was wondering how available ERC is here on the east coast? I have a friend always asking me if I'm cutting any of it, but it's not common here in south central PA. It's growing along the roads mostly but in no large quantities. What I'm really trying to find out is, how far away I'd have to travel to buy a 1000 ft and how much it would cost me???

Thanks for your help.

I purchased cedar railing for in my cabin off a Mennonite in State College a few years back. They had a very large pile of it there to work with. Looked as if they purchased the entire small tree. Not very big trees but a gut load of small ones they used for that type of work. Any idea where something like that might have come from? It looked labor intensive to cut all of those small trees then ship them north.

I have a guy from Pa picking up 1200 feet of edged slabs and some big quartered logs.  I think he is from central Pa.  He might have room if you want me to ask him.

I know this is might be a tough question to ask, but how clear is it, and of course the cost? This guy uses it for turkey calls so the less knots he's gotta cut out the better. (makes 100 calls at a time) Also, can I get it in 8/4 material?

I'm also from central PA, cedar really doesn't seem to grow nice around here. This fall I went to Virginia for a friends bachelor party and noticed it grew pretty nicely and seemed pretty common once we got below Maryland, so you could probably have good results checking down in that area.

Sometime this late Spring or early Summer.  The Cabin Addition Project has to be completed first. :)  I am going tomorrow for a few more days working.
