Got my Port Orford Cedar logs all cut up and drying now.  :)
So my friend says I'm gonna need some more timber for fencing around the new house, and the neighbour is OK with us felling some trees from the boundary 'hedge'
I use the term hedge loosely.. the other Kiwi's will know the sort of thing I mean  :D

The banana cypruss in the front right I have dropped OK, and the skinny Euc behind it is next. But the next Euc and the Macs behind it are 48"+  ::) And as for the 50"+ Mac thats layed over at 45 deg... ummm.. I'll get back to you on that one..

This log is 20m (60ft) and although it's a banana it's bucked up into 5 short and reasonably straight logs. The macrocarpa seems to dry out OK in spite of all the reaction wood in a log like this. Ohhh.. and that nice soft patch of bushes where the log landed is the biggest patch of barberry, blackberry and holly on the whole farm  >:(  Wasn't a lot of choice where that tree was going to fall.
But we have this little toy available tomorrow to drag the logs out of the scrub  :)

So that should set me up with a couple of days good sawing :)

Got the digger organised today and the logs moved  :)

And lined up on the side of the track where we can saw them.

Now a couple of days wet weather moving in  :( , should be fine for the weekend however. Will be some sawdust flying then  8)
