I have wondered about hauling gravel with my boom truck was thinking of sliding a rolloff container into the bed maybe fabing some ears on the back for the hinge just use the boom to lift the front to dump this would be temporary for my own use n maybe some local hauling was wondering if anybody has ever done this am open to ideas I have a triaxle with 22 ft. bed 120 prentice loader n a muddy drive :D

a yd of gravel will weigh over a ton so you put 12 yds on and try to lift 12 ton with that 120 will not quite do it

Yeah maybe 5 or 6yds if you put the load towards the back

The only way I see this work is, when you have maybe a 14 ft bed and have about 4 ft overhang on the back.
Why not looking for a old gravel or dump pup and pull it with your triaxle truck.
Make sure you know how to fall properly when you fall and as to not hurt anyone around you.
Also remember, it's not the fall what hurts, its the sudden stop. !!

We have an old fuel tank we cut and folded which fits in our log bunks kind of like a "liner". I suppose you could figure a way, if you had a way to bolt the pin bosses for the bed and pick with the loader. A couple of yards max probably.
