Hi,
The winch clutch is slipping. It used to be able to pull the machine backwards without a problem. Now it slips long before that. Is there a way to adjust the clutch? It has an Eaton winch. there is some oil on the outside
of housing. If that is causing the slippage, what is the likely source of the oil?

Neilo

If the oil is on the right side, it is either hydraulic oil or grease from over greasing the right bearing.

You can pull that side of the winch apart in the machine to look at the cylinder and linings.

Causes may be oil, dust, thin linings (springs bottoming) or low hydraulic pressure - should be 550psi on yours.

Oily linings, some people clean them but you may be better off replacing them.
