@elk42 , how much light does it take to saw at night?

elk42

I am using  6 - 100 watt pig tail daylight bulbs, but my bed is 48 ft. long. The bulbs are about 8ft apart and another view down the mill.

Got the metal up Saturday

There's a lot of roof on this thing and a ton of screws to put in it. I ran out of screws, had 750, and I'm almost half way done.

I've got a lot of gravel to haul and eventually some wiring to do, but I think I'm gonna get back to sawing for now.

Looks very good to me.  Congrats!!

That is one heckuva shed. Mine will hold only the mill so I am constantly trailering lumber to my drying racks. It is gonna be soooo nice for you to have storage nearby. It's time to sweep your roof - there is a leaf on it but is otherwise perfect. ;D ;D

Very nice home for the mill.  That is doing it right.

Cfarm, I know we hear a lot about snow load on here. The roof does look flat, I used 1-12 pitch trusses to try and have as much height as possible, in hopes of being able to stack pallets of lumber and also to drive out the rear with lift tractor. We may get 1 good snow a year here, 3" to 5".
Bob, I have field my main building with lumber, so It was getting hard to do anything in there, plus it was not ideal for drying.
@WDH , Thanks for the comment. Do you use any type of mesh tarp to keep rain from blowing in (on the lumber) on the big building you put up a few years back?

WDH

No mesh or tarp.  As long as the rain does not come down directly on the lumber, i.e. the stack is only wetted by mist or rain blown in by the wind, that surface moisture will evaporate quickly and not have a big effect on the stack like a heavy rain directly on top of the stack with no protection at all.

Would not hurt to use a mesh screen, but here, the wind plays havoc with it, tearing it up.

Gdaddy

Great looking shed. After our little kiln project is done, we'll have to start on another storage shed for sure. Seems like the bigger the shed the faster it fills up..

Gdaddy, I agree. When I was a child, I wondered why the older men around my area had so many out buildings. Now I understand :D
