Im not looking forward to it but have no choice. Im afraid i'll be caught having to run back and forth to much to get anything done ::) but guess i'll have to wait and see :)

No, just one mill here, plenty of action for this ole boy running just one, will say it sounds like it may be time to hire another hand? not sure if you already have, but would be the right scenario  for it.  good luck!
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

I run two mills on a regular basis. Don't know if you could call it at the same time. It can be challenging at times but I would miss out on lots of work if I didn't.

I am a partner in one mill and have another myself.  It started out with us just building a business and digging hard for customers and doing our best to keep busy.  We started out slow and each year we double our sales.  4 years later  I got a portable mill with the idea that I could cut some of our orders on the log job to save on trucking the material to the mill and be able to help out when we had a flood of orders and a long wait period.   So far I am the second mill only seemed to add to the customer base because we now are able to keep up with customer demands.  My skills as a sawyer are weak and filling in was fine once in awhile. I have since made arrangements for a guy who is really good sawyer to come in one day week with his helper to catch me up so I can work in the woods and not work every evening until dark sawing after spending all day logging.

Customers like prompt service, and I would have never thought that two mills would pay.  I was wrong.

I would suggest the first step is to find someone who is looking for part time work who is already a skilled sawyer and  putting then to work as a second shift.  A portable for me just meant that I had the ability to saw a few small orders on the log job and have the customer pick up and save trucking.
