044 stihl info

What year is an 044 stihl with serial # 125338515. I bought saw new in about 1992 i believe, and sold it to a good friend 3 years ago, its had a pretty easy life, only cut a few logs with it , mostly cut firewood with it. still has good compression and runs perfect. I should have kept it, because now he tells me its found a permanent home.
