Seems when you think things are okay in the world, the great jester decides you no longer need mans best friend by your side any longer....thanks a bunch buddy.  Mother-in-law took my sick dog to the vet, they put her on IV and wanted to keep her overnight.....  I wasn't able to get there before they closed for the day and yes, the door was locked when I tried.  I was waiting in the parking lot an hour before they opened.  Received a phone call 3 minutes prior to the door getting unlocked, she was found dead in a cage.....I buried her next to Lady in the backyard and haven't slept since(that was Friday).

I picked this chunk of Red Maple crotch up from the side of the road I was working on Thursday.  Now it is a natural edged bowl.  I finished it with 6 coats of lacquer...

This one is a Black Walnut hollowform, 6 coats of lacquer.  It has a nice uniform wall thickness of 1/8"...and it was all end grain turning during the hollowing(not fun).  I used a D-Way hollowing rig.

I'm sorry for your loss. You certainly have a creative and beautiful outlet. Those are amazing turnings.

Sad story--hope you're doing OK.  Looks like you turned your grief into something special with that bowl. Good for you.  All the best, Rob.
