So I picked up this saw off my buddy a couple days ago for 50$. It doesn't run, but it does have compression. Has what I believe to be the original Oregon bar on it! It does have a 3/8 stihl chain on it though. Anyways, I'm sure it needs a carb rebuild, and a good tune up, but when I pull it over, the sound coming from the muffler tells me that when it is running, it's going to be one loud sob! What do you guys think?

That was a very popular saw here for felling the smaller wood and trimming on the landing. Does it hold if you let it hang by the starter handle?  If not pull the muffler and have a look at the piston and cylinder.

Note the date stamped on the bar 1971.
No she doesn't hold.. feels like the engine is tired, as I'm sure it's the original piston/cylinder. Up until I got it, it has sat in a basement for the past 15+ years.
