It seems like years since I started building my bandmill (come to think of it, it has been years). I had my first two sawing jobs lined up about a week ago but the magneto went out on the old wisconsin engine I had on my mill and I couldn't find a new coil for it so I just ordered a 25 hp engine off ebay. It's supposed to be here by next Tuesday. Shouldn't take too long to get it hooked up and running (famous last words). As soon as I get that done it's off to my first paying job. I just bought 20 dura tooth super sharps 7° blades from Cooks. I think I'll try a few different brand blades until I find the brand I like. It looks to me like most brands are good, just a matter of your preference. If I'm wrong please speak up.  I'll take some pictures and post them next week.

hackberry jake: I'm still waiting for your visit.  I'm looking foward to meeting you.

DIY band saw mill: four post, 25 HP gas engine, 32" x 18' portable, 24 vdc and hydraulic controls, pineywoods log turner, hyd log loader. RF remote controls for mill.  DIY set works.

Arnold, it's good to see you seeing the end of the build and the beginning of sawing.  I will look forward to hearing about the sawdust flying,   8)
