Hi guys , new to this topic but not forum . I cruised my 40 acre lot today and just wondering what's a good method to calculate how many truck loads or bush cords of pulp /acre. The norm around here has been a rough guess of 2 truck and trailer loads /acre . My lot has 80 % maple 8 - 16 inch with 3-4 sticks in each and the trees are average 10' apart . The remainder is white birch and red oak but they are logs -- of course these measurements are all average. Below are some pics. I snapped today .

Thanks in advance .

What sort of cruise did you do?

If you have sufficient data, you should have a fairly good idea of the volume to get those figures.  Point sampling is a fairly easy way to do that.  I would do those to get a good layout of how the timber runs, and make maps of good ways to cut and skid timber.  I also got good data that would put me well within range for a good estimate.

Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
