I know that Hudson is no longer a sponsor here, but I just wanted to alert owners of their equipment that Hudson Equipment has started give aways on their Facebook page to people that own their equipment. Last month they had one for HFE owners that posted videos of their mill in operation and I just won $300.00 for the videos of my mill that I posted showing it being pushed to its limits. It bought me a case of blades that are now on their way to my mill. They have started another $300 give away on facebook today for mods made to their equipment and hope someone on here here wins it.  :)

I never win anything so it was a great surprise for me to win something. I know there are many members using Hudson mills and hope someone here will win one of their future contests. Seems like they are trying to build their social media base like other mill companies, and trying to build up some content showing how great their products perform in the field.  :)

I've got a hudson mill.  Your carriage is rocking because your wheels are not all on the same plane and your trailer rails may not be completely level with each other.  My mill rocks back and forth if the rails are not perfect and I use thin wedges to fix it.  I will be installing adjuster feet when I widen my mill.

The trailer rails are straight and parallel within 1/16" over their length when checked with a string and laser level . The issue is when cutting large dry logs the mill frame structure is very light and flexes making the mill rock. The wheels also have alot of slop that gets everything rocking, but still cuts straight. When I cut smaller fresh cut logs there is no rocking. I had to remove the top stop to get the mill head up enough for 24" logs so I don't think that helps either. I was pushing it past its limits to show how tough it is. :)

I could see the front left wheel coming off the track and slamming back down again, that is why I said something.
That mill earns it's keep.

Thank You Sponsors!
