When i am not working in the plantations or have excavatorwork i do a little woodworking for some clients that want something above normal standards and quality here and are also willing to pay my prices.

In pic 7,10 you see the shaper. Its European style, shaperaxle is 30mm diam, with a sliding table. there are hundreds of dif shaperheads (knifes, cutters) you can buy. i just have a few. A slotter, gluejointer, cabinetdoor, ...they are kind a expensive.

Teakwood,
Really nice work. I like that cantilevered top. How did you support it?
Great shaper, is working all that teak hard on your cutters? Thanks for sharing your pix

Underneath that top there is a concrete structure. Teak is very hard on you knifes, especially planerknifes, you have to use carbide knifes on every machine, HSS will last just a few boards.
very few times i work with teak (my trees are to small yet). this wood is called laurel, its very similar to your american walnut, and i just like it, so beautiful and easy to work with.
Maybe i got the chance to buy some mahogany wood cheap, I always wanted to make me a mahogany furniture, they are so nice. I like the expression on my swiss visits faces when you say thats mahogany. In europe just a few people can afford this wood. I have a 3' diam mahogany tree on my finca but they are protected.

Great work Teakwood.  I always enjoy following your posts.  Costa Rica is always beautiful, too.  Lovely people and spectacular geography.
