Hey yall.

Recently had a broken band get sucked up into the belt housing and it gouged and abraided both the drive belt for the band wheels and the belt for the hydraulic pump. I'm pretty new to this machine and have not swapped the belts before. I aim to get a belt tension gauge to apply the correct tension.

Im interested to know how the best way to go about the belt changes are. The drive belt seems pretty straight forward. The hydraulic pump belt seems tricky to install. Do you have any advice for a TK greenhorn?

Loosen the two bolts off bracket on hyd pump and take the hyd belt off first then loosen the four bolts holding the engine in place, probably a 9/16 wrench. After that slide the engine over to take the main belt off. Put on new belt and with a pry bar, slid the engine till the belt is tight and tighten bolts back. (nice if you have a helper slide it for you and hold it while you tighten bolts) Then put on hyd belt and tighten it.

Ash,
X's 2   What Xlogger said, not a bad job. If you do not get hyd belt tight it will let you know with a squeal.
By the way where are you located, and welcome.
