Make sure you know how to fall properly when you fall and as to not hurt anyone around you.
Also remember, it's not the fall what hurts, its the sudden stop. !!

I hate that sound of crunching plastic. :D :D Only happened once in my career. Probably about ten years ago I cut a dead 10" elm with a back lean, after I notched it, started with the back cut and placed my wedge. Then cut a little more and left the saw in the cut, while pounding the wedge again.
You probably know what's coming now, yes the hinge broke and it started to go over sideways towards the power head. No chance to get the saw out, so I tried to roll the tree off the stump while pulling on the power head and the bar being pinched. At one point I had to let go and back off and then yes, you hear that crunching noise , wasn't pretty. Saw survived , but needed new cover and handle bar with fuel tank. Moral of the story is, I never leave a saw in the cut again, while pounding wedges.  :o

Running over a new saw with some equipment I can only imagine.  ;D :o
