Just put the rear ice chains on, and when I took that pic, hadn't even gone 200' with it.  Machine was seemingly really well cared for,  engine is tight, barely smokes.  I have an issue with the steering hydraulic valve, (in another post somewhere) and I have a transfer case leak.  But really that's pretty much it so far. (knock on wood)

Looks like a dandy skidder, these older machines were made strong and repairable. The way we need to get back to in my opinion.

I really really enjoy running it.  Picked up a little side job with it cutting a view lot for my parent's neighbors.  Best part is my old man and I get to split all the wood.  Maybe a few marketable logs, but tons of firewood.  Since we heat with an OWB, free heat.

So far the old girl seems to have had a good life.  All fluids were topped and perfect.  Engine was rebuilt in the mid 90's, but has only logged ~10 cord of firewood per year since,  so I would guess maybe 500 hrs?   I had to have the tranny top cover rebuilt, still messing with the hydraulic valve block, and I need to do the steering pins bushings.  Everything else seems pretty good, so far anyway.  Knock on wood.

I have another view lot to cut sometime soon, that is loaded with some really big nice red oaks.  I get the saw logs to sell, the land owner gets the firewood. Definitely one load, maybe two of saw logs.  Im getting to live my part time dream of logging.
