I have been  battling a torn peronial tendon in my left ankle. That's the side the sawdust piles up so it makes it even worse to try to walk on.  I have some desisions to make, surgery at some point but that will put me down for a while, an operators seat, trade in for a command control or sell the mill.  The trade really is not an option so I have been considering an operators seat for a while. Things are going good so I hate to think about selling but this pain is killing me. It's crazy how one thing can change what your doing.

I hate that you Have the pain.  Hang in there, get a seat, keep the mill, have the surgery during the summer and recuperate under the air conditioner.

Sorry to hear that. I agree have the surgery around late May and sit the summer out. The heat is not worth it not to mention the moisture in the air down here making it hard to dry anything in those months. I have the command station and I still have to walk to the bed and tail boards when sawing alone.

When my hip was hurting really bad, it was hard to beat the command control and a bar stool to sit in.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

I vote for and highly recommend the Operator's Seat.

Member LeeB has offered his to several folks and I believe that he still has it.

Couldn't you go to TS or Menard's and pick up a tractor/garden tractor seat, a little steel and have it done pretty easily?

I think the command control on my LT40 was one of my best upgrades. I am sure I have saved some shoe tread.

That is one of the reasons I went with the LT40 over the 35. Glad to hear it confirmed.

Forget about the sawmill solution.  The tendon will only get worse with time/miles.  Do the surgery and give it time (the Doc will tell how much) to heal properly.  Don't ask how I know this.  Oh yes, a couple of bags of frozen corn will be your friend.             Regards, Clark

I finally go the seat  on.  We will see how it goes.

Hey, that looks good.   :) smiley_thumbsup

My upholstery is getting in bad shape so I will soon have to replace it.  A replacement seat is $100.
