I was in garage working on a soon to be utility trailer. I had to torch a cross member out so I grabbed the torch real quick and didn't put gloves on, Low and behold I now have a nice torch burn on 2 of my fingers. All my fault!!!!

Thats like when I decide to wear my running shoes in the shop while I am tack welding....

Bad idea.

Or when I'm grinding with a full face shield and then go to tack something and it feels like I've got a welding helmet on.

After taking a shower, I have lost several layers of skin on my index and middle finger from knuckle down to were fingers meet hand. Got them covered in bag balm and wrapped in gauze for tonight.

Always seems like a burn hurts more than any other injury it sucks
when it is self inflicted I feel your pain have done this most of my life
most times stupidity not thinking about what you are doing and or hurrying. It will pass until next time stay safe.

To me that is a classic example of: the faster I go the quicker I get hurt or into trouble.

Our shop motto when anybody does something like this is, "if your gonna be dumb, you better be tough"... ;D
Not much sympathy in a group of toolmakers who wear the scars of years in the business.
Old doesn't bother me, its the ugly that's a real bummer.

Take care of those fingers Woodhauler.  Easy to pick up an infection with a burn like that.

Tree-farmer there is actually a song that is the same as your shop motto.
Certain times on certain days I feel it should be my theme song  :D. Not afraid to admit I have the scars to prove it

I believe we have all had a moment like this. I watched a lifelong welder cut a bolt off on my truck years ago, took his gloves off after he was done and promptly sat his hand down on a still smoking washer! It happens.

An old time mechanic here in town says " What's the point in being stupid if you don't show it one in awhile."

If you have that deep of skin damage, you should consider medical help.
Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

central pa

I would not recommend bag balm for burns b an w salve works wonders

[/quot   Going to see what it looks like in a few days. Not bad looking this morning. Going to let it air for awhile then cover it.
