Neat shots of the auroras from the space station;

A craftsman uses his brain and his hands
An artist uses his brain, his hands, and his heart

Very cool video. We get the Northern lights up here often....but usually so cloudy that we miss them......Somewhat related topic/joke....My school teachers all thought that I would become an astronaut.....Im sure thats what they meant when they said "All you do in school Percy, is take up space." There you have it. ;D

The northern lights can really get a persons attention. If they are really out and dancing, it is not uncommon for folks to stay up all night watching them. If they really get to going, my wife will get out of bed and drive out of town away from any lights so she has a better view.

I was hauling logs in the Yukon back in 1997-1998. We worked long hours. One night/morning I was sleeping in my log truck waiting for the loader man to show up.  I woke up to a light show like I had never seen before...or since. There was no machine noise and while watching these fantastic lights, I almost thought I could hear them. Perhaps my imagination.

May not have been your imagination.  I've had folks tell me that they had heard them as well.

The lights are the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed.  Love watching them.  Starmac is about 300 miles further north than I am and gets to see them more often and more intense than I do, but any time I can see them I'll watch no matter how active they are.  My wife has pulled a camp chair out and wrapped up in blankets and sat outside for an hour watching them.

Percy, Where were you hauling logs at in the Yukon? There for a while I understand they had shut it all down, but they started having some log sales againin he last few years, and the last time I was over there someone had put a mill in at Otter Creek, just south of Haines Junction.
